Dr. Patel has published over a hundred peer-reviewed scholarly articles, designed surgical instruments, developed surgical techniques, lectured and performed demonstration and/or charitable surgery in over 48 countries, written more than 20 books and book chapters and trained over one hundred fellows from all five continents in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face.
Academic Appointments: Professor and Chief, Div. of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery & Fellowship Director for Overseas and Local Fellows.
Our master students assist Dr. Patel by prepping patients for treatments like Botox injections, laser treatments, sclerotherapy, and fillers. They enjoy listening to him as he consults with patients regarding their concerns and anti-aging needs. A highlight for the master students is observing Dr. Patel perform treatments with the Aerolase Neo laser, which has transformed many patients with melasma, acne, scarring, and unsightly veins. Because he is a teaching professor, he enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge with our students. Physicians worldwide travel to Salt Lake City to learn new methods from Dr. Patel. It is a rare privilege for the students at The Skin Institute to have personal access to him. Students will also have the once in a lifetime opportunity to observe Dr. Patel in surgery for an even more in depth education.
