Our master students assist Dr. Patel by prepping patients for treatments like Botox injections, laser treatments, sclerotherapy, and fillers. They enjoy listening to him as he consults with patients regarding their concerns and anti-aging needs. Because he is a teaching professor, he enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge with our students. Physicians worldwide travel to Salt Lake City to learn new methods from Dr. Patel. It is a rare privilege for the students at The Skin Institute to have personal access to him. Students will also have the once in a lifetime opportunity to observe Dr. Patel in surgery for an even more in depth education.
Founder of The Skin Institute
The Skin Institute, a professional esthetics school, was opened by Mary Ronnow (Master Esthetician) in 2002 to meet the ever-increasing demand for professional estheticians. The school trains students in European facial massage, aromatherapy, waxing techniques, chemical exfoliation, professional make-up, body treatments, microdermabrasion, and medical aesthetics including camouflage make-up, laser hair removal, microneedling, dermaplaning, and more. The school uses the professional lines of Image Skin Care, GlyMed Plus, PCA Skin, Shira Organic, and Jane Iredale.
The Skin Institute offers a basic esthetics license and the prestigious master esthetics license, as required by Utah State licensing requirements to perform more advanced treatments. Each program takes 600 hours to complete. Courses are licensed by the State of Utah and are designed for reciprocity across state borders. Class size is limited to facilitate instructor/student interaction and hands-on training.
